Provand's Lordship House
Glasgow Life
Matt has prepared restoration proposals for St. Nicholas Physic garden at the medieval Provand's Lordship House following the properties £1.6 million pound refurbishment by John Gilbert Architects.
Proposals include both a faithful and sympathetic restoration of the garden which dates from 1994 which was a competition winning entry by James Cunning Young & Partners and was the recipient of numerous awards including a BALI Grand Award and Scottish Natural Heritage Supreme Award.
The sympathetic proposals remove the Common Yew trees which are now overgrown, the removal of the Box hedging which has succumbed to Box blight and replanting with herbaceous plants which is informed by the planting within the medicinal planting beds.
